Young Sportsperson of the Year
(Under 25) Braden Marett
Braden received the award for his outstanding achievements in competitive shooting. Braden is a fine ambassador for his Shire who demonstrates dedication and commitment to his sport as he travels throughout NSW QLD attending clay target shoots. Braden has progressed to "B" grade by achieving four 1st place competition placements in 2008.

At the Australian National Trap Championships held at Wagga Wagga NSW
Helen distinguished herself by winning the Ladies Single Barrel Championship
with a score of 96/100
Ladies Overall High Gun with 740/775 and qualified in fist place for the
Ladies Mackintosh Team.
Helen then shot a perfect 300/300 score to take out the Australian record.
Helen was named captain of Australian Ladies Team that went to Ireland
to participate in the World Trap titles.
Helen is a great ambassador for Australia and for Brewarrina Shire.
